Background: The Maternal and Child Survival Program (MCSP) work in collaboration with the Ministry of Health (MOH) and the Ghana Health Services (GHS) to achieve its objectives of contributing to the improvement of health outcomes for HIV, malaria, nutrition, family planning, and maternal, newborn, and child health. However, health training schools struggled with continuous learning and development due to a lack of IT tutors and lack of internet connectivity to facilitate distance learning for nurses and midwives.
Solution: Bewsys developed a user-friendly e-learning platform for the Maternal and Child Survival Program (MCSP) to equip nurses and midwives nationwide with access to remote training programs to develop skills and knowledge for quality healthcare outcomes. The decentralized e-learning solution enabled the Ministry of Health to efficiently disseminate and receive information from the midwifery and nursing schools.
Impact: As of 2019, 31 nursing and midwifery health training institutes across the country deployed the e-learning system. Over 35,000 nursing and midwifery students across Ghana, can access learning resources to strengthen and reinforce their clinical knowledge.
